[1] The inscription on the base of this dedication, which is in the form of a small column, indicates that Philoumene dedicated a statue of her infant daughter, Eukoline, to the goddess of childbirth, Eileithyia. There is a cutting in the top of the base for an iron clamp to afix the statue, which, as usual, is not preserved. On Athenian dedications to Eileithyia, see IG II³ 4, 1151, with notes.
