Citizenship for Alexandros of Thessaly

         In the archonship of Dionysios (191/0?), on the
        penultimate day (deuterai met' eikadas) of Elaphebolion. Assembly
        in the Piraeus. Nikias son of Polyxenos of Poros  proposed: since Alexandros makes
        (5) himself useful (euchrēston) both collectively and individually
        to those citizens who encounter him,
        for good fortune, the Council shall decide that the
        presiding committee allotted to preside at the forthcoming
        Assembly shall put these matters on the agenda,
        (10) and submit the opinion of the
        Council to the People that it seems good to the Council
        to praise Alexandros son of Kallistratos
        of Thessaly[1] and to crown him
        with a foliage crown; and that he should also be given
        (15) citizenship, when he has been scrutinised in 
        court according to the laws; and the
        court presidents (thesmothetas), as and when they fill
        the court with five hundred and one
        jurors, shall co-operate to introduce the
        (20) scrutiny, and shall put him
        to the vote, even if he is not present; and shall enroll him
        in the tribe, deme and phratry
        that he chooses  . . .
