To Dionysos Auloneus Philotera daughter of Diodotos of Kephisia (dedicated this) in the priesthood of Philemon son of Poplios of Phyle.^[1]

[1] This cult table, dedicated to Dionysos Auloneus, was reused as a stone in the wall of a church; for more details see D. Gill, Greek Cult Tables (1991), 45–47, no. 15. The epithet is connected with an unlocated settlement Aulon in Attica, which is not the same settlement as Aulon near the Mines of Laurium (cf. A. Milchhöfer and O. Jessen in Realencyclopädie der classischen Altertumswissenschaft, 1896, II,2, Sp. 2413 and 2415). The epithet 'Auloneus' and the name of the settlement 'Aulon' derived from aulōn (αὐλών), 'hollow valley', and resemble aulos (αὐλός), 'hollow pipe' or 'flute' (P. Chantraine, Dictionnaire étymologique I, 1968, 140), which reinforced the association with Dionysos. H. Goette (in E. Csapo, H. Goette, J. Green, P. Wilson, Greek Theatre in the Fourth Century B.C., 2014, 77, n. 4) suggests that this might have been a votive offering set up in the Amphiaraeion sanctuary.
