[1] This relief plaque was dedicated to a medical deity and depicts a disembodied female breast. On such ‘anatomical votives’, see AIUK 4.5, pp. 69; J. Draycott and E.-J. Graham, Bodies of Evidence, 2017. The partially preserved inscription gives the name of the dedicator, perhaps [Ch]aritine. The plaque has long been lost and is known only from a report in Ludwig von Sybel, Katalog der Sculpturen zu Athen (1881). Curbera in IG II³ associates it with the Asklepieion on the south slope of the Acropolis (on which, see IG II³ 4, 665), but there were many other healing shrines in Athens where it could have been dedicated.
