[1] This plaque was dedicated in the Asklepieion on the south slope of the Acropolis (on which, see IG II³ 4, 665). The dedicator, Claudia Ammia Agrippina of Marathon, is an example of the interconnectedness of civic aristocracies in the Imperial period. She was the adoptive daughter of Claudius Themistokles, an Ephesian aristocrat with Athenian citizenship. By birth she was the child of Flavius Kallaischros of Marathon and Claudia Vettia Agrippina, a member of a prominent Lycian senatorial family (IGRR III 500). She married her Athenian second cousin, Quintus Statius Glaukos, who was subsequently priest of Asklepios (see IG II² 3704; Aleshire, Asklepios, 63-65, 71). Flavius Onesikrates was priest ca. 190-220 AD and appears in that role in IG II³ 4, 850, l. 3, IG II² 3685 and 3981. This dedication should fall towards the end of his tenure.
