[1] This fragment derives from a dedication made on behalf of a sick woman by a family member. The findspot indicates that it was dedicated in the Asklepieion on the south slope of the Acropolis (on which, see IG II³ 4, 665). The inscription was reported by the archaeologist Dimitrios Philios in 1876, but has not been seen since. He considered the letter forms to indicate a Hellenistic date (V. Bardane and G. Malouchou, Ἀρχεῖο τῶν Μνημείων τῶν Ἀθηνῶν καὶ τῆς Ἀττικῆς I p. 56 n. 249).
