To Asklepios, Rhode (dedicated this), the god having commanded it, uninscribed space in the priesthood of Olympichos of Kydathenaion^III/XI.

[1] This column was dedicated in the Asklepieion on the south slope of the Acropolis (on which, see IG II³ 4, 665). The god’s command probably took the form of a dream (cf. IG II³ 4, 718). The dedicator and the priest are not otherwise attested. For the date, see Aleshire, Asklepieion p. 371. There is a cutting on top for a plinth which would have supported a votive. A cross was carved in the uninscribed space directly above l. 3 by Christians in Late Antiquity.
