[1] This fragment derives from a dedication erected in the Asklepieion on the south slope of the Acropolis. On the Asklepieion and its inscriptions, see IG II³ 4, 665. The upper portion of the block is carved in the shape of an altar. Atop this was a statue, which formed part of the same block of stone. Only the feet survive: the right foot is human, while the left belongs to some kind of animal.
