Transliterations on Places on

[1] Akeso ("cure"), Iaso ("healing"), and Panakeia ("total cure") were daughters of Asklepios; Epione ("gentle, soothing") was his wife (cf. Aristophanes, Wealth, 701-2; IG II³ 4, 777, ll. 16-17). Most of these daughters were widely known, but Akeso was peculiar to Athens. A fourth daughter, Aigle ("radiance"), is absent, as is Hygieia ("health"). The inscription runs along the bottom of a relief panel. In the relief, Asklepios sits on a throne with a coiled snake on the side, facing right, surrounded by his three daughters (one behind him, embracing another, with a third in the background). Epione is seated at right, facing him, with a small boy next to her. The top and right part of the relief is lost. On the relief, see N.
