(5)since we observed the goodwill [which existed on their part from the beginning and the friendship] towards the People, [to give] them [citizenship as for other] benefactors, since their fathers [gave to all Athenians] citizenship in Priene . . . [2] acting publicly towards the [People. So that everyone may know that] the People understands how to give [thanks to benefactors]. For good fortune (10)the Council shall decide that the presiding committee allotted to preside at the next Assembly . . . shall bring the ambassadors of the Prienians and put their grant on the agenda, and submit the opinion of the Council to the People that it seems good to the Council to praise Makareus son of Lykopades . . .
