[1] This base was dedicated in the Asklepieion on the south slope of the Acropolis (on which, see IG II³ 4, 665). It has a slightly concave shape, perhaps indicating that it supported a tripod (cf. IG II³ 4, 780). The name of the dedicator is lost, but the priest Praxiteles is known from IG II³ 1, 1010, l. 159 and IG II³ 1, 1011, ll. 165-66, which indicate that he was priest in 251/0 BC.
