[1] For the deme Eleusis and its decrees see I Eleusis 68. The fragmentary relief on this decree depicts Triptolemos seated in a chariot (r.) and, to the left of him, the honorand standing between Demeter and Kore. This suggests he may have been connected in some way with the sanctuary, though, except for the addition of Triptolemos, the two goddesses and the honorand are featured in more or less the same configuration as on I Eleusis 80 and I Eleusis 99, where the honorands are military figures. The Nausistratos of Eleusis named on the security horos of 289/8 BC, Finley, Studies in Land and Credit, p. 121 no. 6, might be the son of the proposer.
