[1] This cult table derives from the area of the south slope of the Acropolis directly west of the sanctuary of Asklepios and seems to indicate that, in the first century BC, this area was not considered part of that sanctuary. A cult of Pan and the nymphs in this area is attested with a spring in this area in the 5th century BC, but archaeological evidence might indicate that it had been incorporated into the Asklepieion in the 4th century (M. Melfi, I santuari di Asclepio in Grecia, 2007, 347 n 162).
