[1] This boundary marker (horos), inscribed on a blue marble stele, is one of 18 engraved around Aigina in the second half of the fifth century BC (IG IV² 2, 792-804, 1074, SEG 59.347-350). For details on the function, dating, and authorship of these inscriptions, see IG IV² 2, 803 with notes. The inscription was seen by Philippe Le Bas in the bishop's church on Aigina in 1843.
