Citizenship decree
IG II3 1 1359 Date: Ca. 185 BC
. . . . . . and he shall also be granted citizenship, having been scrutinised
in the court in accordance with the law; and the court presidents (thesmothetas),
when they have filled the courts with five hundred and one
jurors, shall introduce his scrutiny, and he shall be enrolled
(5) in the tribe and deme and phratry that he wishes;
and the prytany secretary shall inscribe this decree
on a stone stele and stand it on the acropolis;
and for the [inscribing and setting up] of the stele
the treasurer of the military fund shall defray the expense accrued.[1]
