[1] The general’s name may be Karpodoros. [2] This is one of a series of pilasters commemorating torch races (lampadedromiai) at Rhamnous, on which see IG II³ 4, 317. The inscription is on the abacus of a rectangular capital which is decorated with a floral design and has three sockets on top which each held a bronze torch.
