[1] This cult table derives from the area of the south slope of the Acropolis directly west of the sanctuary of Asklepios. Each of the three columns of text is represented within a relief depiction of an altar. The top of the table has a single depression for offerings running along the whole length. [2] A cult of Pan and the nymphs in the area west of the Asklepieion is attested with a spring in this area in the 5th century BC, but archaeological evidence might indicate that it had been incorporated into the Asklepieion in the 4th century (M. Melfi, I santuari di Asclepio in Grecia, 2007, 347 n 162). This altar might have been erected in order to provide for continued worship of deities whose sanctuaries had been incorporated into the Asklepieion (J. Ma, Tekmerion 6, 2008, 12). For other dedications to Pan and the nymphs at Athens, see IG I³ 955; IG II³ 4, 635, 1426-1434, 1771.
