For good fortune, in accordance with the petition (eperōtēma) to the most awesome Council of the 500, (this herm was erected of) Aurelius (5) Zosimos son of Euhemeros of Eroiadai, having been temple attendant (zakoreusanta) of the Saviour Asklepios brilliantly (epiphanōs), his mother having paid for it, (10) priestess of Ge Olympia Aurelia Zosime daughter of Zosimos of Hermos.^[2] phallus

[1] This herm was erected in the Asklepieion on the south slope of the Acropolis (on which, see IG II³ 4, 665), in honour of Aurelius Zosimos, the temple attendant (zakoros, on this role see IG II³ 4, 794 with notes). The names suggest a date after the extension of Roman citizenship to all free people of the empire under the Constitutio Antoniniana of 212 AD. The head is lost. [2] The sanctuary of Ge Olympia (the Olympian Earth) was located with the precinct of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and contained a large hole, which was said to be where the water had drained off after the world was flooded in the time of Deukalion (Paus. 1.18.7).
