[1] Textual note: Oikonomides suggests restoring [Φούλβιον] Μητρό|[δωρον Σουνιέα φι]λόσ[οφ|ον] “[Fulvius] Metro[doros of Sounion], philosopher,” which is still possible, although the specific basis for the restoration has been invalidated by subsequent discoveries (Ancient World 2, 1979, 22 with SEG 29.177).

This fragmentary herm may have honoured Fulvius Metrodoros of Sounion, who was archon around 120 AD, as a. There are several Imperial-period honorific monuments for philosophers and authors found in the area around the sanctuary of Asklepios on the south slope of the Acropolis (on which, see IG II³ 4, 665).
