In accordance with the petition (eperōtēma) [to the Areopagos Council], (this statue was erected) of [Paul]leina [daughter of] Ant- . . . , having been basketbearer (kanēphorēsasan) . . . , [in the priesthood] of Agathopous . . . ^[1]

[1] This fragment derives from a statue base of a basket-bearer (kanephoros) of a cult with a male priest, most likely the sanctuary of Asklepios on the south slope of the Acropolis (on which, see IG II³ 4, 665). On the basket-bearer, see IG II³ 4, 770 with notes. The priest Agathopous is perhaps to be identified with the priest in AIUK 4.5 (BM, Dedications), no. 24, which would date this inscription to c. 175 AD.
