[1] This statue of Annia Galeria Aurelia Faustina, the second surviving daughter of Marcus Aurelius, formed part of a statue group at Eleusis erected shortly after her husband’s death and deification in 180 AD (see I Eleusis 505 with notes). She had married Gnaeus Claudius Severus, consul in 166 and 173 AD, and died some years before her father. Her granddaughter Annia Aurelia Faustina was briefly married to the emperor Elagabalus in 221 AD (H.-G. Pflaum, Journal des Savants 1961, 29-31). On top, there are two holes for the feet of a bronze statue (left foot forward), a lewis hole, and a rectangular cutting towards the right side, perhaps for the bottom of a torch held by the statue. Rough-picking on the back indicates that the base abutted a wall.
