[1] The inscription, placed above the relief, is broken off on the left side; the left upper corner of the relief is also lost. The votive relief of Pentelic marble depicts Apollo sitting on a tripod in the centre, Leto on the right with her hand on Apollo's shoulder, and Artemis on the left with a bow (her head is not preserved); for more details see N. Kaltsas, Sculpture in the National Archaeological Museum, Athens (2002), 136–137, no. 262. In Athens private votives dedicated to Apollo are not very common, on this see C.L. Dating the monument is quite challenging: the letter forms led Kirchner in IG II² to date the inscription to 400–350 BC; N. Kaltsas dated it to the 5^th century BC; in IG I³ it is dated either (preferably) to 420–410 BC or to 390–389 BC.
