[1] This statue of Faustina Minor, the daughter of Antoninus Pius and wife of Marcus Aurelius, who died and was deified in 175 AD, formed part of a statue group at Eleusis erected shortly after her husband’s death and deification in 180 AD (see I Eleusis 505 with notes). On Faustina, see B. Levick, Faustina I and II (2014). On top there are two holes for the feet of a bronze statue (left foot forward). The back is rough-picked, suggesting that it abutted a wall.

The other statues in the group were found around the eastern of the two Gates of the Panhellenes and include another statue base for Faustina (I Eleusis 507), suggesting that this base belonged to a second, matching group associated with the western Gate (on these structures, see IG II³ 4, 217-218 with notes). It was found (and remains) built into a modern house near the western Gate.
