[1] Textual Note. J. S. Traill, Hesp. 47, 1978, 270-72, no. 2 (SEG 28.150), published fr. b and identified it as belonging to the same base as Agora XV 18 (= fr. a). AIO prints a translation of the composite text of fr. a based on Agora XV and of fr. b based on Traill's 1978 edition, except that in the line following the deme heading Daidalidai (22), shown as a vacat by Traill, we assume that the one representative that would be expected from this small deme was named (seems consistent with the break of the stone to the right on the photograph, Traill, pl. 73; cf. Agora XV 43, ll. 173-175).

This base was perhaps a dedication by the prytany of Kekropis (though not all the implied bouleutic quotas can be verified from other sources, see Agora XV 43 for Sypalettos (2), Pithos (3, here apparently 2) and Daidalidai (1), 31 for Xypete (7)). The fifty members of the prytany (if it was such) were apparently arranged in two columns, the bottom of both of which is preserved on fr. b. Especially if it was a prytany inscription, the base was most likely originally erected in the sanctuary of Kekrops on the Acropolis (cf. IG II³ 4, 23). The date, ca. mid-iv BC, is indicated by orthography and prosopography, which can be traced via Athenian Onomasticon. On prytany dedications see IG I³ 515, with notes.
