[1] This might be one of a set of statue bases erected in the Agora by the tribes in honour of Tiberius Claudius Attikos and Vibullia Alkia, the parents of Herodes Atticus ca. 120-130 AD (see IG II² 3597a). However, the findspot in Acharnai and the length of the line seem to militate against this (S. Leone, ASAtene 96, 2018, 328). Since the cognomen is not preserved, it is possible that this statue was for Herodes Atticus, not his father.

Textual note: AIO retains the line numbers of IG, which run continuously through IG II² 3597a-e.
