[1] This is a cylindrical altar dedicated to Augustus. For other altars dedicated to Augustus at Athens, see Agora XVIII 275 with notes and on Augustus and Athens, see SEG 29.168 with notes. The altar was found in a house on Odos Ploutonos east of Monastiraki; it seems to be the same as the inscription seen in the nearby Little Mitropoulos by Andreas Moustoxydis and K. S. Pittakis in the 19th century (Benjamin & Raubitschek).
