[1] Textual note: The restoration "the God Augustus" here and in Agora XVIII 280 has been questioned (G. Kantor, Classical Review 60, 2010, 500-502), but certainly occurs in IG II² 3235, 3237, 3251, and I Délos 1591.

This fragment derives from an altar for the emperor Augustus (r. 31 BC – AD 14). At least eighteen of these altars are attested at Athens. The others are SEG 18.78-18.80e, IG II² 3230, 3235, 3237, IG II³ 4, 11, Agora XVIII 276-280, 310, and perhaps Agora XVIII 281-282, and 311.
