[1] This inscription is on a statue base, which is part of a set of twelve or thirteen pairs of statues erected in the Agora by the tribes in honour of Tiberius Claudius Attikos and Vibullia Alkia, the parents of Herodes Atticus, ca. 120-130 AD (see IG II² 3597a with notes). Unlike most of the bases in this set, which were found together in the Church of Panagia Pyrgiotissa in the 19th century, this inscription was found in excavations of the Roman Agora; the exact findspot and date of discovery is not recorded.
