Honours for the prytany of Hippothontis

Decree 1 In the archonship of Philon (178/7), who followed Menedemos, in the fourth prytany, of HippothontisIX, for which Philistion son of Philistion of PotamosIV was secretary. On the twenty-second (enatei met' eikadas) of Pyanopsion, the thirtieth of the prytany. Assembly in the theatre. Of the presiding committee Herakleides son of Telemachos of Kerameis was putting to the vote and his fellow presiding committee members. The People decided. Kalliades son of Pausimachos of Lakiadai proposed: concerning (5) what the members of the prytany of HippothontisIX report about the sacrifices which they performed before the Assemblies to Apollo Prostaterios and Artemis Boulaia and the other gods to whom it is customary, for good fortune, the People shall decide to welcome the good omens that have occurred in the sacrifices which they performed for the health and preservation of the Council, the People and the allies; and since the members of the prytany performed all the sacrifices which are appropriate to the prytany well and with love of honour, and took care (10) of the summoning of the Council and the People and all the other duties which the laws and decrees of the People required of them, to praise the members of the prytany of HippothontisIX and to crown them with a golden crown according to the law, on account of their piety towards the gods and their love of honour towards the Council and the People of the Athenians; and the prytany secretary shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and set it up in the prytanikon; and for inscribing and (15) setting up the stele the administrator (ton epi tei dioikēsei) shall allocate the expense accrued.

Decree 2 In the archonship of Philon (178/7), who followed Menedemos, in the fifth prytany, of AkamantisVI, for which Philistion son of Philistion of PotamosIV was secretary. On the sixth of Maimakterion, the tenth of the prytany. Council in the Council chamber. Of the presiding committee Pytheas son of Pythokles of Acharnai was putting to the vote and (30) his fellow presiding committee members. The Council decided. Prokles son of Prokles of Thymaitadai proposed: since the members of the prytany of HippothontisIX and the men with permanent dining rights (aeisitoi) are presenting to the Council Theodotos son of Theodotos of Koile, the treasurer chosen by them from their own number, whom they have praised and crowned, for having made all the sacrifices appropriate to the prytany on behalf of the Council and the People, and for having taken care of all the other duties well and with love of honour; for good fortune, the Council shall decide to praise the treasurer Theodotos son of Theodotos of Koile and (35) crown him with a foliage crown and also to praise the secretary Archestratos son of Phanias of Eleusis and the priest of the tribal eponym, Thrasippos son of Kallias of Gargettos and the secretary of the Council and the People Protomachos son of Protomachos of Paiania and the undersecretary Demokrates son of Diphilos of Cholargos and the herald of the Council and the People Eukles son of Eukles of Berenikidai and the pipe-player Kallikrates of Thorikos and the treasurer of the Council Kallippos son of Leon of Aixone and to crown (40) each of them with a foliage crown; and the prytany secretary shall inscribe this decree on a stone stele and set it up in the prytanikon; and for inscribing and setting up the stele the administrator (ton epi tei dioikēsei) shall allocate the expense accrued.
