[1] This columnar grave marker (kioniskos) is located on Philopappos Hill, just south of the meeting of Rovertou Gallou and Apostolou Pavlou streets. On kioniskoi, see AIUK 3 (Fitzwilliam), no. 7 with notes. This is the sole attestation of the name Pasinika at Athens, where the male Pasinikos is more common. Her name and her father’s name use the Doric spelling (-nike and Demo- in Attic) as we might expect for foreign residents from Lakedaimon (i.e. Sparta).
