For Good Fortune of the Council and People of Athens. In the archonship of Kleon son of Nikias at Delphi and of Nikostratos son of Nikostratos at Athens, the following held the Dodekais:^[1] the priest of Apollo Pythios Eukles son of Herodes, the interpreter [chosen by the Pythian oracle (exēgētēs puthochrēstos)] from the Eupatridai Polykritos son of Polycharmos, the interpreter (exēgētēs) [appointed] (5)[by the People] from the Eupatridai Diotimos son of Diodoros, the herald of Apollo and priest of Hermes Patroos of the Kerykes Gorgippos son of Eudemos, the sacred remembrancer (hieromnēmōn) Epainos son of Euphronios of Phaleron,^[2] the seers (manteis) Lysias son of Paramonos, Aristos son of A[mmonios], the pipe-player Menodoros son of Menodoros.^[3]

[1] This inscription is a list of participants in either the third or fourth Augustan Dodekais (on which, see F.Delphes III 2, 59 with notes), inscribed on the southern wall of the Athenian Treasury in the sanctuary of Apollo at Delphi. On Attic inscriptions at Delphi, see IG II³ 4, 17 with notes, and on the Athenian Treasury, see F.Delphes III 2, 3.

The archonships of Kleon at Delphi and of Nikostratos at Athens cannot precisely be dated. Follet tentatively dates the inscription to either 21/0-18/7 BC or 13/2-10/9 BC; Byrne, Athenian Onomasticon dates it to 10/9 BC. [2] On Eukles, Polykritos, Diotimos, Gorgippos, and Lysias, see F.Delphes III 2, 59 with notes. On Aristos son of Ammonios, see F.Delphes III 2, 61. Unlike in most Dodekais inscriptions, the demotics of the participants are not given here (the only other case of this is F.Delphes III 2, 62). The sacred remembrancer (hieromnemon, see F.Delphes III 2, 59, with note), Epainos son of Euphronios of Phaleron, is otherwise unknown. [3] The pipe-player’s role in the Dodekais was to accompany the sacrifice with music. Menodoros son of Menodoros of Pambotadai was active as pipe-player in the third, fourth (F.Delphes III 2, 62), and fifth Dodekais (F.Delphes III 2, 63), but is otherwise unknown.
