Boundary marker (horos) of land and a house sold subject to redemption (pepramenōn epi lusei) to the community (koinōi) (5)of the Myrrhinousians for the sacred fund (hierou arguriou) of Artemis Kolainis.^[1]

Dova, in Πρακτικά ΙΔ΄ Επιστημονικής Συνάντησης Νοτιοανατολικής Αττικής, Καλύβια Θορικού Αττικής, 6-9 Οκτωβρίου 2011 (2013), 59-68 (SEG 63.156; see also Csapo and Wilson and Humphreys), the wording on this marker (horos) of property used as security for a loan by the deme Myrrhinous to an unidentified deme member, found some way south of the deme, and including the unusual reference to the deme cult whose funds supported the transaction, identifies it as one of the horoi marking loans by the deme erected under the provisions of IG II² 1183, ll. 27-32. Our inscription, which will date a little later than 1183, incidentally confirms that that decree was passed by the deme Myrrhinous. IG II³ 4, 242 (Acharnai, Augustan period, a time when formal demes had ceased to generate inscriptions).
